Food Wall Art

Food Wall Art

Food wall art puts the meal, the fruit bowl or the cocktail at the center of the picture instead of in the background of a landscape. This collection holds still life paintings and food photography prints for a dining room, a restaurant, a cafe or a home bar.

Food Wall Art For A Dining Room Buffet

A dining room wall above a buffet is a home for food art. A charcuterie tray with dried chicken sets a relaxed tone; a roasted turkey holiday still life leans formal. Measure the buffet, not the table: a 78 inch buffet calls for a piece about 54 inches wide, so a 54 x 36 inch landscape print covers about two thirds of its length. The same subjects work well over a counter, in the kitchen wall decor collection.

Still Life Paintings And Food Photography Prints

Two crafts sit inside food wall art. A still life painting builds the scene from color and brushwork, as the vase, apples and red cup still life does. A food photography print shows the dish as a camera saw it, as the grilled salmon with lemon and rosemary does. If you want paintings of food and drink rather than photographs, or food art pictures with a photographic finish, this collection carries both.

Vintage-Style Food Art In Watercolor

Several pieces use watercolor rather than a photograph, with the soft edges of a vintage food art print, each made to order. The watercolor peach branch, the fresh pomegranate watercolor and the vintage currants still life share this loose, hand painted look. Because the color sits in washes rather than hard lines, these prints work well with older furniture without copying a specific antique.

Italian Food Wall Art For A Trattoria Feel

Italian food wall art leans on a few dishes: a rustic Italian pizza still life, a rustic Italian pizza flat lay from above, and an Italian ingredients flat lay of oil, tomatoes and herbs. Grouped on one wall, the three build a trattoria feel a single pizza print cannot manage alone. If you want the country rather than the plate, the Italian wall art collection covers the coastline and hill towns with no food in the frame.

Food Wall Art For A Restaurant Or Cafe

A restaurant or cafe wall carries food art at a larger scale than a home dining room. A 90 inch feature wall behind a host stand calls for a piece about 60 inches wide, so a 60 x 40 inch landscape print covers close to two thirds of the space, and a plate like the seafood pizza with mussels and tomatoes holds up well at that distance. For more scenes built around eating out, see the restaurant wall art collection.

A Home Bar Wall That Matches The Drinks

A home bar is usually a narrow run of counter rather than a full wall, which is where a panoramic shape earns its keep. Behind a 70 inch bar counter, a 48 x 16 inch panoramic print covers about seventy percent of the length without competing with bottles in front of it. The classic martini cocktails print and the mojito bar utensils still life both fit that shape, and a festive hot cocoa mug carries the idea into a cooler season.

Sushi And Seafood For A Clean Line

Sushi and seafood photography give a dining wall a cleaner line than a rustic still life, since the plate is usually shot from directly above on a plain surface. The top-down sushi roll with chopsticks and the nigiri and sashimi stone platter share that flat, graphic angle, and the grilled beef fillet steaks with rosemary add a warmer plate to the same wall.

Rustic Food Art For A Farmhouse Table

A few pieces lean rustic rather than polished: the rustic organic market still life and the ten wooden spoons of spices both use worn wood and an unstyled arrangement rather than a studio set. They belong next to a farmhouse table, and for the fields and barns with the same feeling, the farmhouse wall decor collection has the wider view.

How Each Piece Is Made

Nothing here exists until you order it. Canvas prints use archival inks on museum-quality canvas over a solid wooden inner frame, and a canvas or framed piece arrives ready to hang. Delivery runs 8 to 10 business days from order, shipping is free, and returns are open for 30 days.

Common Questions

What Is Food Wall Art?

Food wall art is any picture that makes food or drink the main subject, whether a still life painting, a straight photograph or a flat lay shot from above. This collection covers all three, from a charcuterie tray with dried chicken to a bowl of ripe pears, in four finishes. Choose a Canvas Print, a Framed Canvas, a Framed Print or a Poster Print for the same picture.

What Is The Difference Between A Food Art Print And A Food Photography Print?

A food art print can be a painting, an illustration or a photograph, since the term covers the subject rather than the medium. A food photography print is specifically a photograph, such as the grilled salmon with lemon and rosemary, shot under real light on a real plate. The watercolor and still life pieces here use brushwork rather than a camera.

Are There Any Vintage-Style Food Art Prints Here?

Yes, a small group of pieces use watercolor and a loose, hand painted line similar to an older illustration, including the vintage currants still life and the watercolor peach branch. The fresh pomegranate watercolor shares the same soft, washed look. None copy a specific historical piece; each is a new work made to order.

Does This Collection Include Reproductions Of Famous Food Paintings?

No, this collection holds food photography and illustrated still lifes, not copies of paintings by a known artist. If you came looking for food in art history or a specific painter's work, you will not find a copy of it here. This collection carries still life and food photography in the same spirit.

Is Food Wall Art A Good Fit For A Small Dining Room?

Yes, one still life or food photography print works well in a small dining room, since a single subject on one wall feels intentional rather than crowded. Choose a plate or fruit study with a plain background rather than a busy flat lay, and keep it to one wall instead of spreading several pieces around the room. A lighter piece, such as one of the watercolor fruit studies, keeps a small room from feeling heavy.
