Reykjavik Wall Art

Reykjavik Wall Art

Reykjavik wall art here pictures the Icelandic capital itself: the Tjornin pond, City Hall at blue hour, the Hallgrimskirkja church on a city map, the city at dawn and northern lights over the city. Choose a view of streets you have walked or plan to visit, then match its shape and size to your wall.

Tjornin Pond Views Bring The City Water Into The Room

Three pieces take their title from the pond in the middle of the city: Reykjavik Tjornin Reflection, Tjornin at Twilight Reykjavik and Tjörnin Reykjavik Skyline. The titles pair the pond with the city, with one set at twilight and one reflecting the water, so each gives you a different hour to hang.

City Hall At Blue Hour For A Study Or Office

Reykjavik City Hall at Blue Hour is the piece to pick if you want a single building as the subject rather than a whole skyline. It suits a desk wall or a longer wall. For a 50 inch desk, a 36 x 24 inch landscape size spans about 72 percent of the width.

A Reykjavik Map With Hallgrimskirkja For A Hallway

Reykjavik Map with Hallgrimskirkja is a map of the city built around the church named in its title. A map keeps its interest up close, so a hallway or a narrow stretch of wall by a staircase works well. Maps of other cities are gathered in the city map wall art collection.

The Aerial Map With The Runway Stands Tall

Reykjavik Aerial Map with Runway looks down on the city from above and names the runway in its title, which gives it a different character from the street map. It is offered in a portrait shape, a good match for a narrow wall beside a door or a bookcase.

Northern Lights Over Reykjavik For A Bedroom

Northern Lights Over Reykjavik puts the aurora above the capital, and it is offered in a panoramic shape that runs wide and low. Over a 70 inch dresser or the headboard wall of a bedroom, a 48 x 16 inch panoramic spans about 69 percent of the width. Hang it so the center sits 57 to 60 inches from the floor on an open wall, or 6 to 8 inches above furniture.

Dawn And Golden Hour Pieces

Dawn Over Reykjavik and Reykjavik Golden Hour Mountains are named for early and late light. The golden hour piece includes mountains along with the city. Dawn Over Reykjavik is titled for early light.

Choosing Between A City Skyline And A Map

A skyline piece shows what Reykjavik looks like, while a map shows how it is laid out. If you want street detail, choose a map. If you want a scene to rest your eyes on, one of the pond or dawn pictures does that job. Pairing a map with a skyline is a quiet way to cover both in one room. For skylines of other cities, the city skyline wall art collection has them.

Reykjavik Next To The Rest Of Iceland

This page stays inside the capital, but the country around it has its own pages. The Iceland wall art collection spreads across the whole island, the Kirkjufell wall art collection holds the mountain on the Snaefellsnes peninsula, and the Goðafoss waterfall wall art collection holds the falls in the north. A Reykjavik piece beside one of those makes a small gallery of a single trip.

How Each Piece Is Made

Each Reykjavik piece is printed to order after you place your order and shipped from within your region. Canvas prints use museum-quality canvas and archival inks, stretched over a solid wooden inner frame, and canvas and framed pieces arrive ready to hang.

Common Questions

What are some examples of artwork from Iceland?

Icelandic subjects on this site include city views of the capital, waterfalls, mountains, glacier lagoons, northern lights, maps and flags. This page covers the capital. The Iceland collection carries the wider country, so start there if you want a landscape rather than a city scene, then narrow down by place.

How long does Reykjavik wall art take to arrive?

Delivery takes 8 to 10 days from the day you order, and shipping is free. Every piece is printed after you order it, then shipped from within your region, so the clock starts when you place the order. If you are buying for a date, order at least two weeks before you need it.

Can I return Reykjavik wall art if it does not fit my wall?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery, but a change of mind carries a 50% restocking fee, and the piece must be in new condition and its original packaging. Write to us first. If the wrong artwork or size arrives, or the piece is damaged, faulty or misprinted, we replace it free and you send nothing back.

Is Reykjavik wall art ready to hang?

Canvas and framed pieces arrive ready to hang, so you can put them on the wall as soon as you open the box. A poster print arrives unframed and does not come ready to hang, so plan on a frame. Posters are usually the lowest starting price.

What is Reykjavik most famous for?

This page makes no claims about what the city is known for, since it holds pictures rather than a guide. What you find here is a pond, a town hall, a church on a map, an aerial map, northern lights and early light over the city. Pick the view you like, then choose a finish and size.
